Please be aware that Skyward is doing some updates to improve security of their platform. After this update occurs, you may be required to create a new password for your Skyward account when you log in. We do not know the exact date of this update, but expect it to be within the next week. If you are not prompted to create a new password, then your password already complies with their new updates. We just wanted our parents to be aware in case they see the new password prompt upon signing in to Skyward. This will affect both parent and student logins.

Vernon ISD is gearing up for the 2023-24 school year and we have several open teaching positions. Check out the information below.
Vernon ISD is blessed to have parents of students who support and appreciate our teachers and staff. To celebrate the end of each 6 weeks, parents at each of our campuses do something a little special for our teachers and staff. As the latest sixth weeks came to an end last week, McCord staff received fruit cups, while Central and Shive parents stocked the teacher’s lounge with snacks, and Middle School staff received handmade cookies and survival kits. Vernon High School staff received hand-delivered treats of their choice. Our students also love to see familiar faces at their schools during their school day. Vernon ISD is very thankful for the support shown to our teachers and staff. We love having parents, families and community members involved in school activities. If you would like to participate, please contact Kori Eakin, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, at 940-553-1900, ext. 2229 or at kori.eakin@visdtx.org.
The District 7-3A Track & Field Meet will be held Monday and Thursday in Iowa Park. Here is the schedule for the meet.

Just a quick reminder.
This is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day and we want to recognize all of our paraprofessionals. You guys rock!!
As a project to help fifth graders comprehend and learn how to determine the author's purpose in writing a story, students in Mrs. Tara Sandusky's English Language Arts and Reading class selected a topic and were then separated into three groups. Each group researched and wrote a play, and then performed the short plays for students in Mrs. Courtney Jansa's and Mrs. Jessica Miller's ELAR classes. After each play, students in the audience had to determine if the author's purpose was persuasive, informative or entertaining.
Just a quick reminder that our Pre-K Roundup for the 2023-24 school year is happening TODAY at McCord Elementary.

The Vernon High School One-Act Play "Typhoid Mary" competed in the Region 1, Area 2 Meet held Saturday at Clyde High School. Unfortunately, the VHS production did not finish in the top 3 and advance to the Region 1 One-Act Play Meet.
However, three VHS students received special recognition. Madeline Brown was named to the All-Star Cast, Alyssa Flores received Honorable Mention All-Star Cast, and Daniella Eneanya was named Best Stage Manager.
Congratulations to the One-Act play cast and crew, and sponsor/director Dustin Swatzell for a great year. We are proud of you!!
