As the Vernon ISD administration and school trustees work to build a mission statement and a vision statement, they want to hear from YOU. Take a quick minute to complete our Community Survey. Go to www.vernonisd.org and look for "VISD Community Survey" at the top of the page.

Vernon ISD Superintendent Dr. Kermit Ward's latest message to the community was released today.
"I am often asked by many if I still have to work over the summer. Those summer days off were long gone for me the moment I stepped out of the classroom as a teacher and into school administration. When you have an organization of good teachers, who rightfully put pressure on the administration to stay a step ahead of them; there is just no time for rest or to take a break.
This administration used this summer to leverage the district to get better as much as we could." To read Dr. Ward's entire message go to www.vernonisd.org

The Vernon Youth Football Camp starts Monday!!! Open to incoming kindergarten thru 9th graders!! Scan QR code below or go to www.vernonisd.org and look for "Summer Football Camp" at the top of the page.

Vernon ISD administration and trustees are currently working on mission and vision statements for the district, and they want input from YOU!
“When I was an outsider trying to get here, I wanted to know as much about Vernon as I possibly could,” VISD Superintendent Dr. Kermit Ward said. “One of the first things I looked for was the district’s mission and vision statements. After an extensive search, I concluded and later confirmed once I got the job that we do not have one. Good mission and vision statements provides a compass, or shines the flashlight, on the direction the district needs to go. The process for writing both statements is arduous, as it well should be, yet the VISD school board and myself are up to the challenge as we have actively engaged in meetings over the summer and the development process is well underway.
“The first step is hearing from our community regarding their opinion on the district’s strengths and weaknesses. In order to maximize this effort, we need a robust response from the community.”
Residents can find a link to the survey on the district website at www.vernonisd.org or scan the QR code below.
