In just 7 weeks the Vernon Lions kick off their 2025 season!
Our cheerleaders are already hard work on plans to keep that Lion spirit strong all year long!! They have already set the pep rally theme for all 10 regular season games, and the theme for Homecoming Week. The homecoming game is set for Oct. 10.
Get those creative juices flowing!

Below is the local Texas Department of State Health Services vaccination calendar for July. The office is located at 1531 Cumberland.
Please remember all required immunizations must be up to date before the start of the school year. Students will not be allowed to start school without current immunization records on file and up to date.

Our Lady Lion volleyball players take the court for two-a-days on August 1 and the night before it's their parent's turn! A parent meeting for all volleyball players -- high school and middle school -- will be held three weeks from tonight, Thursday, July 31, at D.O. Fulton Gym. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Lady Lions Head Coach Amber Hall will go over important information and answer questions.

We will officially welcome all of our incoming 6th grade students in less than 20 days!!

Registration is underway for the Boys & Girls Club of Vernon's Soccer League, which begins Sept. 13!
League is open to area youngsters from kindergarten thru 8th grade!
Deadline to register is Monday, Aug. 4. Team draft will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Players will meet their coach at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, and there will also be a soccer clinic at that time.

We're just 30 days away from the start of the 2025 Vernon Lady Lion volleyball season!! Head Coach Amber Hall has announced a Volleyball Parent Meeting will be held Thursday, July 31, at D.O. Fulton Gym. The meeting is for parents of BOTH high school and junior high volleyball players. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend.

If you're an incoming 7th, 9th or 11th grader and plan on participating in any sport, or band, during the 2025-26 school year, you must have a sports physical before you will be allowed to participate. Also, any student who participated in sports last year and suffered a major injury will need a new sports physical. If you haven't gotten your sports physical yet, here's a great opportunity, so mark your calendar.

The Vernon Lions/Lady Lions Basketball Camp wrapped up its three-day run today. The camp began Tuesday, with the session for the older campers being held in the afternoon these last three days. They worked on shooting, ball handling and other fundamentals, and had fun with a variety of competitions.

The Boys & Girls Club of Vernon's 6th Annual Back to School Bash is right around the corner! The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, at the Boys & Girls Club. The event will including handing out free school supplies, back-to-school clothing, and other back-to-school services including health screenings, haircuts and more. Food vendors will also be on hand, and there will also be fun games, music and entertainment. Make plans to attend on Aug. 5!!

We suspended online registration and enrollment for the 2025-26 school year earlier this week and, unfortunately, it is still suspended at this time. When we resume online registration and enrollment for the upcoming school year we will make an announcement. Thank you for understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience.

As of today we are exactly 7 weeks from the start of the school year!! We know some families like to get a jump on preparing for the school year, so below is our VMS school supply list for each grade. We look forward to seeing all of our returning students and all of our new students on Aug. 13.

Well then, be sure and sign them up for the Sparkle & Shine Cheer Camp scheduled for July 9-11!! The camp is open to incoming kindergarten thru 6th grade students. The Champs Volleyball Camp held at D.O. Fulton Gym wrapped up its 3-day run yesterday. Campers ranging from pre-kindergarteners to 8th graders worked to learn the game and improve their volleyball skills all while having fun.
