VMS Fall Festival is Tuesday and should be a lot of fun!! Games! Bingo! And More!!
Next week is Red Ribbon Week and the theme this year is "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug-Free." VMS has something planned for every day next week as they take part in the national drug awareness campaign.
Tomorrow is Football Friday which means PTO members will be at McCord, Vernon Elementary and Middle School ready to do some face painting during lunch periods! Students pay $1 to have their face painted. This is a fundraiser for the PTO, with all money going right back to benefit the students.

VMS Principal Katrina Price is handing out the Principal's Award to deserving students for each six weeks. The Principal's Award recognizes students for their diligent efforts in improving themselves academically, socially and emotionally. The award has been explained with the Zuli greeting and salutation "Zawubona" meaning -- I See You. I Value You. You are important to me.

Planning is well underway for our VMS Fall Festival. Students will receive raffle tickets to sell today. There will also be a meeting at 5 p.m., today and 6:30 p.m., Thursday, in Room 250 for parents/guardians and community members who would like to volunteer to help with the festival. You only need to attend 1 of those 2 meetings.
