
All campuses will be on an early release schedule on Thursday and on Friday, the final day of our 2023-24 school year!!


If your child has medication at their school, please stop by and pick it up by the last day of school. The medication cannot be sent home with the student and it cannot stay at the school during the summer. If you have any questions, please contact your campus school nurse.


Some of our VISD students have been recommended for summer school. If your child has been recommended for summer school, you should have received a letter with a QR code. The QR code allows you to register your child for summer school. Please complete the registration process. If you need assistance with registering your child, in person registration will be at VMS in the Library on May 29th and 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.


Mark your calendar!! Tuesday it is Donuts with Dads Day at VES!!! The event starts at 7 a.m., in the cafeteria. Please make plans to attend, Our students light up when a member of their family shows up at their campus to attend an event.


Here are more photos that feature members of our Vernon ISD family participating in the Santa Rosa Rodeo Parade that was held Wednesday afternoon. We had over 200 students, teachers and staff participating in the community event.











Over 200 members of our Vernon ISD family participated in the Santa Rosa Parade held Wednesday afternoon. Our McCord, Elementary School and Middle School all had floats in the parade, while our VHS seniors rode on fire department trucks. Other members of the VISD family rode on floats of various businesses and organizations.











Our 3rd graders presented their Spring Program Tuesday evening at the Wilbarger Auditorium. They were great!











Our 2nd graders performed their Spring Program Tuesday evening and they did a great job. And, from these photos, it appears they had a blast doing it.











UPDATE!!!! The 5th Grade Egg Drop has been canceled for today. It has been rescheduled for 1:30 pm, Tuesday, May 21.

Our new Roarin' Lion Band Director Jeremiah Hastings, his wife Audrey Hastings, and assistant band director Matthew Golden were introduced to the community yesterday at a Meet and Greet held at the VISD Administration Building. Following the Meet and Greet, VISD Supt. Dr. Kermit Ward introduced them to the Roarin' Lion Band.









POSTPONED!!! The VES 5th Grade Egg Drop was scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m., but has been pushed back to 9:30 a.m., due to the weather.

Tuesday morning VISD Supt. Dr. Kermit Ward handed out popcorn to our VES teachers and staff in appreciation for their work this year. He also took the opportunity to quiz some students while visiting the classrooms.




Don't forget, but before you head to your spot to watch the Santa Rosa Rodeo Parade, stop by in front of the VISD Administration Building and grab a bag of popcorn to munch on while you watch the beautiful floats and horses go by!


Take a moment during the noon hour to stop by the VISD Administration Building and welcome the new leader of the Roarin' Lion Band, Jeremiah Hastings, to town. You can have some punch and a cookie during the come-and-go event.


Our 2nd and 3rd grade students have been working hard on their spring program. Be sure and head to the auditorium tonight and show your support. When they see friends and family in the audience it always makes them smile.


Downtown will be hopping Wednesday afternoon for the annual Santa Rosa Rodeo Parade and we're going to be poppin' as well! Swing by and pick up a bag of popcorn to munch on during the parade! We'll be on the sidewalk in front of the VISD Administration Building.


Thank you to all who helped our life skills students participate in our Vernon Olympics and the All-Star Olympics in Altus.


Our 5th grade students took a field trip to tour the campus of the Middle School, which will be their campus next year as 6th graders. Students walked around the outside of the building as well as checked out the cafeteria, library and the layout of the school building.

School will be out in a couple of weeks and with that comes trying to keep the kiddos active and entertained. We have three great summer enrichment camps that will do both of those things and also keep them learning -- and learning in a fun way!! Check out the flyers for more information.
