Vernon Elementary has scheduled two opportunities for parents to attend the annual Title 1 Meeting. The first opportunity will be at 4 p.m., tomorrow in the VES Library, and the second opportunity will be at 4:15 p.m., Wednesday in the VES Library. At the meeting school administrators will inform parents about the school's participation in the federal Title 1 program, explaining the requirements of the program and the parents' rights and opportunities for involvement in their child's education.
The Lions Baseball Camp is set for June 16-18 at Jabe Brazzle Field. The camp is open to all incoming 3rd thru 9th graders. The focus of the camp will be the fundamentals of the game, and improving skills in hitting, throwing, and fielding, and -- FUN!! Instructors will be members of the VHS baseball staff, along with current and former players.

Earlier this month, Vernon ISD sent out letters to parents of students who the district was recommending to attend our Summer School Accelerated Instruction for Reading Language Arts and Math. Summer School enrollment is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Vernon Middle School. Earlier this week the VES PTO wrapped up their final Teacher Appreciation Cart for the 2024-25 school year!! We are incredibly grateful for the PTO's continued dedication and support of our teachers and staff here at VES!
Earlier this week members of the VES Student Council spent a leisurely, but exciting, day at the Wichita Mountains. The trip was a reward for the hard work these students put in this school year.
Tuesday VES had some special visitors on our campus, as local leaders Vernon Mayor Pam Goslin, Wilbarger County Sheriff Brian Fritz, Vernon Fire Chief Chris Cook, and VISD Supt. Dr. Kermit Ward spoke to students from Mrs. Inman's, Mrs. Moore's and Ms. Meza's classes. Fire department paramedic Perez, along with Sparky, also stopped by. The students asked some great questions and enjoyed their time with our local l eaders.
